Note:  The day is finally here.  NHL Expansion Draft takes place tonight in Las Vegas at the NHL Awards ceremony.  The Golden Knights will submit their list to the NHL this morning and their team will be broadcast across the universe tonight on television at the NHL Awards.  Of course Jets fans will be looking to see which unprotected player will be heading to sunny Nevada.  As always keep it locked to illegalcurve.com and on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram for the latest news connected to the Jets.

Note II:  Late last night the Jets “new” home and away jerseys were revealed as the NHL transitions from Reebok to Adidas.  While the changes to the jersey were minor, what do you think?

Note III:  Today we learned who the Jets will play in their season opener and that the Jets had made a deal with the Golden Knights to not take Tobias Enstrom.

Dreger explains how the Golden Knights would have selected veteran Winnipeg Jets defenceman Toby Enstrom had the Jets not made a deal to ensure Enstrom stays a Jet.

Winnipeg Sun:  Defence looks likely for Jets 2017 first-rounderWhile there is an expectation that the Jets will use their pick on Friday might they trade it away for a piece that can help them win now?  Ken looks at that possibility.

Winnipeg Sun:  Plenty of solid blue-liners available for Jets at 13.  Ken takes a look at some of the D-men that could be available when the Jets step up to the podium on Friday night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine happy to be considered for Calder.  (Paywall).  Jason caught up with the Jets prized rookie from last season last night as he (Laine not Bell) gets ready for tonight’s NHL Awards.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Cheveldayoff has to decide whether to pick positional need or best player.  (Paywall).  The last time the Jets drafted 13th overall they managed to snag a solid defenceman in Josh Morrissey.  Will this time around find them similarly fortunate?

Sportsnet:  Jets 2017 NHL Draft PreviewWhile there is plenty of focus on the Expansion Draft which happens tomorrow worth remembering that the Entry Draft is just a few days later.  Here is a preview of the local team.
