Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  While the Vegas Golden Knights will not be submitting their expansion draft list to the NHL until tomorrow morning, GM of the team George McPhee has indicated that he would stop listening to offers from other NHL squads as of last night.  So now we wait…..and while we wait here is the latest Jets news.

Note II:  Today we will also see the reveal of the new Adidas NHL jerseys although Winnipeg is not one of the reported 13 teams getting a new look with today’s reveal.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Defence looks likely for Jets 2017 first-rounder.  While there is an expectation that the Jets will use their pick on Friday might they trade it away for a piece that can help them win now?  Ken looks at that possibility.

Winnipeg Sun:  Plenty of solid blue-liners available for Jets at 13.  Ken takes a look at some of the D-men that could be available when the Jets step up to the podium on Friday night. 

Sportsnet:  Jets 2017 NHL Draft Preview.  While there is plenty of focus on the Expansion Draft which happens tomorrow worth remembering that the Entry Draft is just a few days later.  Here is a preview of the local team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets sniper headed for runner-up finish in Calder race.  Ken believes that Patrik Laine will finish second (once again) to Auston Matthews, this time in the vote for the NHL rookie of the year.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Game’s not over yet, but Chevy missed some big saves.  (Paywall).  Paul laments the lack of movement by the Jets when it comes to the goalie situation here in Winnipeg.
