Note:  Tonight is the final installment of NHL This Week with Illegal Curve so get ready for two hours of NHL playoff previews on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 6 pm.

Note II:  The Moose left today for their final road trip of the season as they head to Ohio to face the Monsters in the last two games of their 2016-17 season.  They will be doing it without the services of defenceman of Jan Kostalek as he was given permission by the organization to head back to Europe to try out for the Czech team ahead of the World Championship next month.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  30 Thoughts.  Just one Jets related thought with respect to the Jets expecting to give coach Paul Maurice an extension.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Odds of Jets winning draft lottery this year are slim.  (Paywall).  While most fans feel like they won the lottery that counted when their 7.5% chance to move up was granted last April they won’t be upset if history repeats itself even though they know the Jets have even slimmer odds of a similar move this time around.

Winnipeg Sun:  Goaltending questions remain.  I was always of the opinion that Hellebuyck was being thrown into this position about a year earlier than he should have been and now it seems like the competition some thought we may see last year is gonna take place this Summer.

The Hockey News:  Areas each of the playoff-less teams should address this Summer.  One guess what are they thought the Jets needed to improve.

Illegal Curve:  Which Winnipeg Jets are playing in World Championship in Germany & France.  Six members of the Jets team are currently scheduled to wear the flag of their country next month and that number could still increase.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Steve Valiquette (MSG Network) chats about Winnipeg Jets goalie situation.  Valiquette says the Jets should target Ben Bishop in the off-season, Connor Hellebuyck is still developing in the NHL and Eric Comrie would benefit from more time in the AHL.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Jan Kostalek season ends early; trying out for Czech Republic (Worlds).  The organization granted the young prospect the opportunity to head out about a week before the AHL season ends so he can have a chance to try out for his national team back home in Europe.
