Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  After flying back from New Jersey last night the Jets following their 4-3 shootout win, the team decided to not hold a practice or have any media availability today.  The team will be back on the ice Thursday at 10:30 am at the MTS Centre for morning skate as they get ready to face the Ducks.  We will also likely get updates on Myers, Postma and Enstrom.

Note II:  The Moose are back on the ice following last night’s 5-2 win over the Condors in Bakersfield.  They will practice today at 2 pm at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield before leaving for San Jose where they play the Barracuda on Friday.

Note III: Tune into NHL This Week on TSN 1290 Winnipeg for two hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL hockey talk starting at 6 pm.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Armia embraces new role.  The puck really does seem to stick to his blade when he has it.  Ken writes about the role he has embraced.

Globe and Mail:  Laine scores in shootout, Jets rally to beat Devils.  A look back at last night’s action between the Jets and Devils.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets rally for win against the Devils. Ken’s recap brings you back to the swamp in New Jersey to recap the win for Winnipeg.

NJ.com:  Devils perplexed after no penalty shot call in OT vs. Jets.  Always find it interesting to read the perspective of a writer that covers the Jets opposition as they provide analysis of the game with an eye on New Jersey (in this instance).  

Illegal Curve:  Jets might not be making any Moose calls to end the season.  There was some thought that some of the young guns in the AHL could be seeing some NHL action before the season ends but that doesn’t sound as likely following comments made by coach Maurice today in New Jersey.

Moose news:

Official Manitoba site:  Comrie made 26 saves and Beauvillier scored twice in a 5-2 Moose win.  Some contributions from the new members of the team helped the Moose end their two game losing streak and start the road trip off on the right foot.
