Note:  The Jets are fresh off a big 3-1 win over the Habs but they won’t have any time to rest with today’s 4 pm puck drop in Ottawa.  Good news for the Jets is that the Senators also played (and won 6-3) last night in Toronto.  So it may not be the most crisp game in our nation’s capital although Winnipeg will have had about six more hours of rest.  While the Jets won’t have a morning skate be sure to still keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for all pre and post game news and be sure to follow us on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.

Note II:  The Moose are coming off a disappointing road trip that saw the team go 1-4-1 including a pair of losses this weekend in Toronto.  The team has the day off today before they head to the Assiniboine Park Zoo for a Monday afternoon meet and greet with fans starting a 2 pm.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Five keys to Jets against Senators.  Ted’s list includes: 1) More of the same (physicality). 2) King Patrick. 3) Rock solid D. 4) Slow down Sens. 5) Ch-Ch-Changes.  And Ted’s big matchup is Erik Karlsson vs. Dustin Byfuglien.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets get physical against Habs.  I’m not sure how sustainable that method is but it was effective and it reminded me of the way the Jets played when they made the playoffs.  Read Ted’s game assessment from his spot inside the Bell Centre.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets spoil Claude Julien’s debut, beat Habs 3-1.  (Paywall).  Jeff gives you his breakdown of the afternoon contest in Montreal.

Montreal Gazette:  New coach, same old Canadiens.  Assessment of the game from a beat writer that covers the Habs.

NHL.com:  Perreault scores winner as Jets knock off Habs.  You could tell the native of Quebec was excited to have such a big impact in his home province in front of family and friends.

NHL.com:  NHL Trade Buzz.  Mathieu Perreault is the subject of the second part of this article.

Sportsnet:  The life and legacy of Len Kropioski.  (Video).  With yesterday being Hockey Day in Canada out of Kenora the crew took a look at the life of fan favourite Len Kropioski who made a lasting impact on the city of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Jets.
