Note: The Jets leave Missouri with two points in the bank as they beat the Blues for the third time this season. Last night’s 5-3 win in St. Louis was the eighth straight win against the Central and has Winnipeg sitting at 12-4-1 overall within their division. Fortunately for them they play the next four games intra-division and five of the next six so if they are planning a playoff push they will need to make some hay during this stretch. They will practice today in Texas as they get ready for a date with the Stars on Thursday night.
Note II: Moose are still on the All-Star break but will be back in action tomorrow for a practice. They take on the Barracudas on Friday and Saturday before heading out for another six game road trip.
Note III: NHL This Week with Illegal Curve airs tonight on TSN 1290 Radio from 6 pm CST- 8 pm CST. The guys will break down last night’s victory in St.Louis and preview Thursday night’s game in Dallas.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets continue to ride Pavelec. His start on Tuesday came as a bit of a surprise so the fact that the Jets bench boss is still riding his former number one netminder cannot shock the system at this point.
TSN 1290 Winnipeg: Laine is a generational shooting talent. (Audio). Travis Yost of TSN.ca speaks to Rick Ralph about Patrik Laine’s shooting percentage, if it is sustainable over a five year period and comparable elite NHL shooters.
Winnipeg Sun: Growth of Trouba’s game too obvious to ignore. Remember when a few folks said who needs him during his contract dispute with the Jets. Top pairing D men don’t grow on trees and most around here recognize the talent the Michigan product displays on a nightly basis.

Toronto Sun: Breaking down trade deadline possibilities for Canada’s teams. A look at all seven teams here in Canada looking at whether teams are buyers or sellers, or in the case of Winnipeg a little bit of both.
The Hockey News: Scheifele deserving of mention alongside league’s best scorers. Good for the Jets centre to get some recognition of his play outside of the 204 where he is already held in high regard. And this article came out before he cracked the top five in NHL scoring.
TSN: Betting on Laine maintaining his lofty shooting percentage. Jets fans won’t be betting against #29 anytime soon that is for sure.
