Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets play their second last home game tonight at the MTS Centre against the Florida Panthers before the holiday break at the end of next week.

Note II:  The Moose will head to Illinois today following a pair of games against Charlotte.  Last night they dropped an OT decision to the Checkers.  They will practice tomorrow tomorrow before they have three games in three days including tomorrow night in Rockford and then a pair against the Wild in Iowa.

Note III:  The Jets have ended the grind of their heavy schedule and they are starting to get some healthy bodies back into the lineup.  Our Jets Injury Report provides an update on Joel Armia, Shawn Matthias and Tyler Myers.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets weigh in on playing in Olympics.  While none of the Jets took the Alexander Ovechkin position (going regardless of NHL participation) Paul spoke with Patrik Laine, Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler.

Winnipeg Sun:  Laine on own goal: ‘S— happens’.  No point in losing sleep on it at this point.  Have to just put it behind him (which he clearly has) and move forward.

The Athletic:  The key context the Matthews-Laine debate is missing.  Doesn’t anyone else think that this “debate” would be best held in five or ten or fifteen years?
