Note:  The Jets have gone 4-1-1 in their last six games including a shootout loss last night against Detroit.  The team will hit the ice at 12 noon for a skate as they get ready to face the New York Rangers tomorrow night here in Winnipeg.

Note II:  The Moose will also hit the ice for practice following a day off yesterday.  The team gets ready for the alwats fun 7 pm Friday night contest followed by a 2 pm Saturday afternoon game against the Monsters here in Winnipeg.  They will be at the IcePlex today at 11 am.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  30 ThoughtsOnly one Jets note and it is speculation that 91 could fit in Montreal.  (Thought #3).  Of course worth noting that he may be injured after leaving last night’s game after two periods, which would derail this scuttlebutt.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets lets Wings off the hook.  Watching that 1st period last night couldn’t help but make you think the Jets were going to dominate the game and easily win their third game in a row.  Instead it was a 2nd and 3rd period that was controlled by Detroit and led to a 4-3 SO win.  Ken breaks it down for you.

Winnipeg Sun:  Laine makes case for Calder.  His play really has been next level since the start of his rookie season as Paul makes the case for the Jets top rookie to earn some hardware.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Red Wings fly out winners.  (Paywall).  Jason recaps the game in this article.

The Detroit Free Press:  Vanek, Zetterberg help Red Wings ground Jets, 4-3, in shoot-out.  Always good to get the perspective of a beat writer that covers the team the Jets just played.

TSN:  Jets let another lead slip away.  (Video).  Sara Orlesky and Gary Lawless discuss the Jets’ shootout loss and why a few mistakes from veteran players allowed the Red Wings to get back into the game.

TSN:  Laine’s strong game not enough to get past Red Wings.  (Video).  Patrik Laine and Dustin Byfuglien both had impressive games but ultimately their efforts weren’t enough, as the Red Wings came from behind to steal the win.

TSN:  Laine’s playmaking almost as impressive as his shot.  (Video).  The Jets may have lost the game, but TH2N takes a closer look at Patrik Laine’s playmaking ability and why it’s almost as impressive as his incredible shot.

Illegal Curve:  Jets Injury ReportUpdates on Mark Scheifele, Tyler Myers, Joel Armia, Shawn Matthias and Nic Petan.

Illegal Curve:  Jets rookie Patrik Laine sits 4th in central in NHL All-Star voting.  Suspect he got a few more votes after another impressive game last night.

Prospect news:

Illegal Curve:  Jets sign Logan Stanley to a three-year ELC.  Caused a bit of a buzz on a game day with this news.  I’ve included our chat with Craig Button from a few weeks ago discussing Stanley’s progress.
