Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets will hit the ice with a smaller group of players for Day 13 of training camp as they have consolidated into one group following Tuesday’s re-assignment of nine players.  The team will hit the ice at the IcePlex at 11 AM for a skate.

Note II:  The Moose are on day three of their camp also at the IcePlex.  They will hit the ice for 12 pm for their skate.

Metro Winnipeg:  Jets top brass have tough decisions to make.  Hustler writes about the influx of talent arriving in the organization to compete for NHL jobs has made for a very different September in comparison to past years.

ESPN:  2016-17 Jets season preview.  Apparently today is the day to release your Winnipeg season previews.  In this one LeBrun includes best new faces, biggest unknowns, sure things and a prediction.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hutchinson understands fighting for his job is all in a day’s work.  (Paywall).  He seems to be the guy most fans have penciled in as number two in the goalie rotation.  Of course the debate rages over who will be number one…..

Winnipeg Sun:  Is Kyle Connor ready? Maurice doesn’t know.  Despite the fact that Jets fans have anointed him a spot in the opening night roster the Jets bench boss isn’t giving away anything.

CBC:  After Jets reassign 9 players, Paul Maurice says next cuts will be tougher.  The bubble is about to burst for some players who may on the cusp of making this team in the next round of cuts.  Also a look at the opening for Josh Morrissey and where does everyone fit in?

Illegal Curve:  Patrik Laine projected to be NHL’s Rookie of the Year runner-up.  Might we see the first Calder Memorial Trophy winner be from a team in Winnipeg since some Finnish kid named Teemu Selanne back in 1992-93?

CSN New England:  Trouba would help the Bruins but is he worth the cost?  Seems to be the same cast of characters (or in this instance) teams that are circling the wagon.

Global News:  Moose forward looking to move past Disney World arrest.  I suspect he may hear it from some opposition players but that seems to be about it.

Global News:  Scott Glennie calling Manitoba Moose tryout a second chance.  I missed this the other day as the former 1st round pick (and Manitoba product) will use this opportunity with the AHL squad to try and get back to the NHL.
