Note:  Day 8 of training camp will see the third pre-season game as the Edmonton Oilers are in-town to do battle with the Jets at the MTS Centre with puck drop at 7 pm.  As always we will be covering the game and as always stay tuned to illegalcurve.com and on social media including Twitter| Facebook | Instagram for pre and post game news.

Note II:  Tonight’s Jets and Oilers tilt will not be seen on TSN 3 as the will be showing the Bombers and Eskimos game instead.  It can be viewed on the TSN GO app and you can listen to the call on TSN 1290 Winnipeg.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets can’t afford to trade Trouba.  This is becoming like that episode of Seinfeld where George wants to break up with a woman and she won’t let him.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets tame Wild in preseason action.  (Paywall).  It may be preseason but Nikolaj Ehlers speed is already in mid season form.  He was flying last night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Trouba manning blue line for Jets still strong possibility.  (Paywall).  Can this relationship be mended?  Will we need some Gorilla Super Glue to get the job done?

Winnipeg Free Press:  It’ll be Bombers and Esks on TSN, not Laine’s likely Jets debut.  (Paywall).  If they can split screen Trump and Clinton I fail to see how they cannot do the same via the miracle of technology.

Globalnews:  ‘Kroppy’s’ family thanks fans for their love and support to a ‘one of a kind’.  There has been quite an outpouring of love and support from Jets fans.  Will be interesting to see how the team honours Kroppy on the opening night of the season.
