Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers (Monday, Dec 26th)

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets appreciate the Christmas break.  No more time for rest for these Jets.  They will get another night off as they await the Avalanche in Denver.  If you’d like to hear from the Jets speaking about their time away from the rink, we were at practice today and have audio from Ladd, Kane, Antropov, Hainsey, Stuary and coach Noel.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets fly above and beyond.  Easily the story of the year and as Geoff Kirbyson points out, might be story of next decade in our province.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets get back to work.  Despite having a strong December the Jets are still trying to climb out of the hole they dug during the first two months of the season.  We will be at the MTS Centre this morning and will have audio from the Jets before they head to Colorado to face the Avalanche.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets brutal in closing out back to back games.  Luckily for the Jets, the Colorado Avalance who are riding a 8 game home winning streak are playing in Minnesota tonight before they return home tomorrow to face off against the Jets.

Globe and Mail:  Three players to watch at World Juniors.  Jets #1 draft pick Mark Scheifele tops the list.

Next opponent news – Colorado Avalanche:

Denver Post:  Avalanche travel, play on same day.  The Avs are quite the contrast.  Despite having won 8 home games in a row, they have lost 9 in a row (0-8-1) on the road.  They have a really difficult schedule today (up at 4 am, flight at 8am, game at 4pm) which should play into the Jets hands for tomorrow.

Denver Post:  Ryan O’Reilly leading NHL in takeaways.  Surprising to ever see anyone ahead of Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk in this category.  The Jets will have to pay close attention to him on Tuesday night.
