Note:  The Moose get a second crack on this California road trip against the Condors.  They were taken to school on Tuesday night in Bakersfield 6-3.  Puck drops tonight at 9 pm at Rabobank Arena.

Note II:  Over in Pennsylvania, Jets 2015 1st round pick Kyle Connor had another big night getting two goals and three assists in a Wolverines 7-4 win over the Nittany Lions.  In 22 games this season he has 20 goals and 21 assists.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has not reached the bar he set for himself.  Part two of this three part series goes to Paul Friesen.  He certainly doesn’t mince words in this article.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Chasing a top draft choice kills locker-room spirit.  (Paywall).  Hard tank vs. soft tank vs. no tank.  So many options and just 33 games left to go.  And it certainly won’t be an easy sell in the locker room as Scott Campbell knows and writes.  And even the Jets (as can be seen below) are looking up to see what will happen.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Shoddy penalty killing has been Jets’ most obvious flaw.  (Paywall).  Former NHLer J.P. Vigier is breaking out his whiteboard again.  The article gives you the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to the Jets PK.  There is also a nine minute video attached to the article.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Buff gets in some ice time while fishing on Lake Winnipeg.  (Paywall).  Sounds like big #33 really kicked off the All-Star break with a nice day of fishing.  While I enjoy fishing I’ve never arrived via helicopter.  Might have to give it a shot.

Winnipeg Sun:  The good, the bad and the ugly of Jets’ GM Kevin Cheveldayoff’s five years at the helm.  The Jets may be off but the Sun is hitting you with quite a bit of content to kick start All-Star weekend.  This feature is part one of three they will be running between now and Monday. First up is Ted Wyman who asks ‘Was last season a blip on the team’s long-term development trajectory or is this season?’.

Winnipeg Sun:  Wheeler says no thanks to all-star game.  After it was determined that Toews was out and Neal was in Jets fans were sharpening their pitchforks until Paul Friesen calmed them down with the facts.

Hockey’s Future:  Prospects rising to the challenge as rookies.  A look at how the rookies are progressing on the Jets, a look back to the 2016 World Championships and the Jets prospect of the month.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Ed Tait spoke about the first part of the season has been largely disappointing to fans and media alike, and discusses some possible moves ahead of the trade deadline.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable.  Former NHL Executive Bill Watters discusses the Jets pending UFAs Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien and what it will take to sign them.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable.  Hockey Hall of Famer Adam Oates discusses the skills training he’s doing with Winnipeg Jets Centre Mark Scheifele and other NHL players.
