Note:  Another day of practice for the Jets in advance of a date with the Coyotes on Tuesday night.  Arizona will be playing in Minnesota so Winnipeg will have to take advantage of a potentially tired squad in their final game before the All-Star break.

Note II:  The Moose will practice in Bakersfield today.  They play the Condors at 9 pm on Tuesday night.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  Decisions on Byfuglien and Ladd can make or break Jets’ future.  That sound you hear is the buzz of trade talk as we get closer and close to the trade deadline.

ESPN:  5 GMs feeling the heat.  It may have been -20 last week but ESPN has the Jets GM as #1 on their list of GMs feeling the heat.

TSN:  It’s time for the Jets to trade Andrew Ladd.  Gary gives his thoughts on what the Jets organization should do with their current captain.

Winnipeg Free Press:  No substitute for hard work. (Paywall).  Is the patient past saving or can they still be resuscitated?  Ed writes that hard work is probably the only cure for the current malaise.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Danish dynamo can patrol either wing. (Paywall).  His skill level is off the charts and coach Maurice went on record saying that he would like to get Ehlers out on either wing depending on the situation.

Winnipeg Free Press: Scheifele plans on playing Tuesday. (Paywall).  Chatting with him yesterday it was pretty clear that he is champing at the bit to get back on the ice.  Guessing if he has a pain free practice today we will see him in the lineup tomorrow night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Critical homestand disintegrating.  (Paywall).  Quite a bit of emphasis was placed on this homestand which had the home team playing nine of ten in Winnipeg.  The Jets were 11-5-1 at the MTS Centre before January 10th but they have now gone 1-5-0 in their home rink.

Winnipeg Sun: No magic potion for the Jets.  Coach Maurice seems pretty aware of the position he and his squad are currently sitting in and what they need to do to get themselves out.

TSN:  Homestand not showing results for Jets.  Plenty to read from this article as Dennis goes over the homestand which meant so much to Winnipeg and their playoff hopes.

Sportsnet:  Jets to ‘take a real run’ at trying to re-sign Dustin Byfuglien.  This was from Saturday’s headlines which had Elliotte Friedman reporting that the Jets will be making a serious effort to retain #33.

Illegal Curve:  Jets Practice Report.  A look at the lines used and the players absent from the practice at the MTS Centre.  Audio:  Mark Scheifele and Mark Stuart.

Jets audio:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum.  Perreault status.  Burmistrov/Stafford update.  Changes to PK?  Team mentality currently.  Ehlers on the left side.  Scheifele status.  Nature of Lowry’s injury?  When does Postma return?  Magic potion to fix the problems?
