Note:  The Jets have now lost three games in a row including two at home but somehow remain just a few points out of the playoffs.  They face the Nashville Predators in a massive central division clash tomorrow night at the MTS Centre.  Today the team will practice as they try to wash away last night’s loss.

Note II:  The Moose close out their own home stand tonight as they take on the Lake Erie Monsters.  Manitoba went 2-4-1.  Puck drops at 7 pm at the MTS Centre.

Jets news:

TSN:  C’mon Ref.  Jets fans may not like this perspective but former NHL referee Kerry Fraser weighs in on the controversial call from last night.

ESPN:  LeBrun’s Rumblings.  Scroll down to the Elsewhere section.  LeBrun writes about Byfuglien and not being asked to supply a list of teams and what that implies.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Penalties killed Jets… again.  (Paywall).  The journey to the sin bin was a common theme on the evening and one that didn’t serve the Jets particularly well.

Winnipeg Free Press: Controversial call sinks Jets.  (Paywall).  Sitting in the press box I saw the refs arm go up while Wheeler and over 15,000 fans were jumping for joy thinking the game had been tied.  Following the game Blake Wheeler wasn’t mincing his words about the call on the ice that nullified his game tying goal.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets can’t blame Refs.  While you might disagree with the calls that went against the home side the argument could be made that the team needed to be more aggressive in the first 40 minutes of the game.  Paul writes about why the team cannot blame the officiating.

CBC:  Penalties vex Jets as they fall to Sharks.  Adam writes that fans should be focused on a season stuck in neutral and not on attributing blame on the referees.

Sportsnet:  Tyler Myers takes brutal, selfish penalty that costs Jets.  Usually Tyler Myers isn’t one who loses his cool so it was surprising to see him take that shot on Wingels.  After the game he told us that “I’ve just gotta control myself”.  Felt that Wingels had been taking runs “all game”.

San Jose Mercury News:  Sharks rip Jets, win their third straight game.  Read about the game from an opposition beat writer.

CSN Bay Area:  Stalock comes back strong to Sharks victory.  He didn’t get overwhelmed with shots tonight although he really wore out his skates.  Sure plays an active role outside his crease (and that is aside from the controversial collision with Wheeler).
