Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  Both the Jets and Moose hit the ice for a second consecutive day of practice.  Winnipeg prepares for a date with Columbus on Thursday at the MTS Centre and Manitoba has a tilt with Milwaukee on Saturday in downtown Winnipeg.

Jets news:

SI.com:  Football a key part of Jets forward Andrew Copp`s road to the NHL.  As we saw earlier this season he had quite the ability to toss the long ball.  Learn how it helped him get ahead.

Fox News:  Connor Hellebuyck is putting Winnipeg in a tough spot.  Considering Pavelec won’t be returning until the end of January or more likely sometime in February not sure how tough that spot is right now.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Milestone for Mr. Grit.  (Paywall).  Ed writes about the Jets glue type guy in the room aka Chris Thorburn and the impact he has on and off the ice on this team.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets are improving their ‘defence-first’ strategy.  (Paywall).  Getting back to what made the team successful last season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Suited and booted Jets hit runway for charitable fashion show.  (Paywall).  The players and their wives/girlfriends walked the runway to raise funds for a good cause.

Winnipeg Sun:  Myers and Enstrom, together forever.  Pairing the shortest (Enstrom – 5′ 10″) with the tallest (Myers – 6′ 8″) isn’t just for yuk yuks.  The tandem has clearly found some comfort paired with the other.

Winnipeg Sun:  Back to back to Chicago for Jets.  I remember looking at the schedule when it was released and thinking when I saw these oddly scheduled game 2 of a back to back within a week as “not good for business”.
