Note:  The Jets will hit the ice again today at 11 am after a day off yesterday.  We will have audio following skate from coach Maurice.

Note II:  The Moose return to the MTS Centre for their home opener tonight night as AHL hockey returns to Winnipeg with puck dropping at 7 pm.  We will be covering the game and as always stay tuned to illegalcurve.com and on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram for post game news and images.

Jets news:

Metro Winnipeg:  Phone booth to feature four straight nights of hockey.  Two NHL and two AHL games.  To think that we were once simply an AHL market.  Who could have foreseen this?

Winnipeg Free Press:  Rookie trio fitting in with Jets and winning over skeptics.  (Paywall).  They say proof is in the pudding and these young guns have shown (so far) that they belong on this team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets fly out of the gate.  Always helpful when you can afford to have patience because the team continues to win while your young guns gain experience and learn to play the game at the NHL level.

Winnipeg Sun:  Little comes up big.  There was some angst as the Jets top centre was without a point in his first three games of the season along with Jacob Trouba and Tobias Enstrom.  (Adam Pardy is also on that list but he has only played one game).  Little quickly capitalized on both the PK and PP against the Rangers and quelled some of the concern over his offensive game.

TSN:  Statistically Speaking: Jets’ Ehlers a high-flying rookie.  The Jets 2014 1st round pick get some love in this article.

ESPN: Jets’ efforts have them on the rise.  ESPN did an ultimate sports franchise list comparing all four leagues and the Jets are moving on up in the rankings.  They went from 97th last year to 69th this time around.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable.  James Mirtle of the Globe & Mail discusses the Jets successful opening road trip.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable.  Shane Hnidy recaps the Winnipeg Jets opening road trip of the season where they went 3-1 with wins over Boston, New Jersey and the New York Rangers.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  The Jets closed out their road trip with a 3-1 record after defeating the Rangers and Paul Edmonds breaks down all the action, including the clubs special teams effort, the struggles on the faceoff dot and Nikolaj Ehlers’ impressive play.

Moose news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Moose-mania in Winnipeg?  (Paywall).  It is going to be a full house as the MTS Centre will be rocking with the home opener tonight.

Winnipeg Sun:  More hockey to love: Fans, biz excited for return of Moose. What isn’t to like?  Anywhere from 5,000 to 9,000 fans in downtown Winnipeg for an additional 38 nights.

Illegal Curve:  Moose assign Brennan Serville to ECHL.  The former University of Michigan Wolverine is heading to Tulsa to play for the Oilers.

Moose audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable.  Captain John Albert discussed the upcoming home opener and being named Captain of Winnipeg’s new AHL Franchise.
