Note:  After last night’s 3-1 victory over the Devils the undefeated Jets have the day off today and will get back into action with a practice on Sunday.  Then they play at 12 noon ct on Monday in Brooklyn against the Islanders.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Hutch’s season gets off to good start.  (Paywall).  Coach Maurice clearly wants both goalies to get into a routine and still has confidence in his young backup.

ESPN:  Jets reaping the benefits of competition between goaltenders.  Fans saw the value last season of having a 1/1a and are hoping the team continues to get improved play from both goalies this season.

Illegal Curve:  Burmistrov given warning over check to the head.  He was clearly relieved that he wouldn’t be on the receiving end of any additional discipline from the league.
