Note:  As part of the Pass It Forward program, donate used hockey gear to Perth’s Drycleaners during the month of September! They are a charitable program working to outfit deserving youth in equipment.  Read more about the program here.

Note II:  The Jets remain winless in pre-season action following an 8-1 drubbing in Minnesota last night.  They return to the MTS Centre to continue training camp.  More cuts are expected today so be sure to keep it locked to illegalcurve.com and on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram for the latest Jets news.

Afternoon links:

Day 11:  Coach Maurice audio | Player audio | Lines from practice | 27 players left at camp | 16 players re-assigned

NHL.com:  Jets’ success depends on progress of young players.  If you look at the players left there are some spots open to these young guns.

NHL.com:  Goaltending, youth movement among Jets’ X-factors.   I missed this article from Patrick as well as the one above.  Both good reads from him.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets set? Far from it.  (Paywall).  I suspect after today we will be a lot closer to the Jets team you can expect to see in the regular season.  Tim gives you an overview of camp hopefuls.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets smoked by Wild.  A case of men vs. boys.  Hopefully the Jets fans who made the trip south also caught the Vikings game earlier in the day.

MyToba:  Jets youngsters bombed by Wild vets.  While fans aren’t happy with the result they can probably rest easy knowing that the team will be fielding a more veteran lineup for their remaining pre-season games.

Minneapolis Star Tribune:  Wild throttles Jets 8-1 at Xcel in preseason action.  Ouch.  Jets referenced as a JV team by the Wild beat writer.

Pioneer Press:  Wild rout Jets 8-1 in exhibition laugher.  Not much Minnesota nice in that beat down.

Wild 8 Jets 1:

Coach Maurice post-game presser: Coach Maurice met with the media following the game against Minnesota.  While he only spoke for 1:30 he said quite a bit in a short period of time.  To listen click here.
