Winnipeg Free Press: Jets prove they deserve no more mulligans. This is a week that we could be talking about all season. While most fans would have been happy with a win and a shootout loss, the Jets knocked off 3 quality opponents in Tampa, Washington and Philadelphia. On the road against Washington, Carolina and Boston the Jets will need to play as well as they did at home, to prove they can start talking about playoffs.
Winnipeg Free Press: A Fehr game after return from injury. While he didn’t play too much (7 minutes, 19 seconds), he was smart about his shifts while trying to get his hockey legs back. He didn’t make any mistakes and even had a chance or two in the offensive zone. The Jets are lucky to have the rugged winger back in the lineup.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets snapshots – quality wins breeding hope. First time Jets won without Evander scoring. Kane’s 3rd period hat trick of the penalty variety. Jets are 6-1 when leading after 1st. Jets are 2nd in league in minor penalties (to the Flyers). Fan’s boo’ing. Flyers jerseys at MTS. And more.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets beating up big guns. I don’t think too many people expected the Jets to be 1 game below .500 when this 3 game homestand finished on Saturday. Even if the Jets are successful on the road when they play 3 games away from friendly confines of the MTS Centre, the 12 games in December could go a long way to solidifying the Jets goal of the playoffs.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets are ‘in the groove’ says Byfuglien. As Big Buff goes, so go the Winnipeg Jets. That was quite evident last night as the Jets defenceman was everywhere last night. Banging and crashing, having an active stick on defence and scoring what turned out to be the game winning goal.
Winnipeg Free Press: Boy comes to boo Bryz, gets stick instead. Nice move by the Philly netminder. The fans were merciless in their boo’ing of him and chanting of his name. The “we want Ilya” chants rolled out all night long. The highlight of the night was when the Jumbotron showed him on the bench and the fans started to boo, and he looked up and waved at the crowd.
CSN Philly: Read shines in loss. IC’s Ezra Ginsburg spoke with Matt Read following his 2 goal performance against the Jets. To listen to that audio, plus Pronger, Hartnell, Giroux and coach Laviolette click here.
Jets Affiliate IceCaps News:
TSN: Mannino shines as IceCaps win rematch with Admirals. Quite amazing that with all the call-ups the Jets have made to the farm (including 3 players who started the game last night) that the Caps are continuing to dominate the AHL (1st overall).
