Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets ace test with 99. A fifteen point improvement from last season for a team that was predicted by most to finish on the outside looking in. Tim also looks at a number of other topics including: 1) Whose B team was better? 2) On the outs. 3) In we go and 4) Favourite number.
Winnipeg Free Press: Kudos for Thorb’s dogged style. Number 22 got big cheers from the MTS Centre faithful when he was announced as the winner of the 2014/15 Dan Snyder Memorial Award winner in a pre-game ceremony. He continues to be a leader on and off the ice for this team.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets like what they see in young Copp. Picked up his first NHL point in his first NHL game to go along with a 3rd star and plenty of praise from his NHL coach. Not a bad first night with the big club.
Winnipeg Free Press: Maurice the true MVP. He came in and did exactly what he told the media he would do from his first interview with us last season. He has become a players coach. One who doesn’t advertise his dirty laundry in the media. He has been around the bend and it seems like he has figured out the key to unlock the true potential of this group of players.
Winnipeg Free Press: Anything is possible, say Jets fans. The optimism in the fan base is at the highest level we have ever seen as they are very excited at the prospect of this squad being able to make some noise in the post season.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets manhandle Flames in 5-1 win. It had the feeling of a pre-season game more than game 82 of the regular season as both teams did whatever it took to get through 60 minutes without losing any players to injury.
Winnipeg Sun: Copp off to a good start with Jets. The young prospect received quite a bit of praise for his first NHL game.
CBC: Maurice leads Jets to new franchise record — next up, playoffs. Jeff breaks down the game and the coaching effort of Paul Maurice.
CBC: Jets fans get decked out for white out against Flames. It felt a bit unusual last night to start the game as a usually blue crowd (wearing the home blue jersey) had transitioned into a crowd wearing a lot of white as they get ready for the Whiteout.
Calgary Herald: Bennett shines, but Flames snuffed out by Jets. In case you wanted the perspective of the Calgary side of the game read beat writer George Johnson.
MyToba.ca: Scheifele on Jets playoff mindset: “It will be guns blazing”. He played in all 82 games this season and is ready to take his game to the next level which is where the Jets will need him to take it based on the depth the Ducks boast up the middle.
Illegal Curve: Which members of the Jets played in all 82 games this season? Well my above comment gives you at least one of the three iron men on this team.
