Jets news:
TSN: C’Mon Ref. Former NHL referee Kerry Fraser answers a reader question asking what was the difference between the David Backes cross check on Mark Stuart’s neck and Dustin Byfuglien’s cross check that got him a 4 game suspension.
Winnipeg Free Press: Professional calm covers Jets’ emotions as post-season berth nears. In a 30 team league when 16 teams make the playoffs we assume that many players make it to the post season multiple times. However there are a number of players on the Jets who have toiled in this league for years with barely a sniff of post season action. Now they are so close they can practically hear the insanity of the MTS Centre for the first NHL playoff game in Winnipeg since 1996 but know they need to focus on the task at hand.
Winnipeg Free Press: Day of rest for battered crew. The importance of recharging the batters at this stage in the game cannot be understated. It is pretty evident the wear and tear on the body that an NHL season takes so when you can give your players a chance to recover the Jets bench boss clearly understands the importance of same.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets are so close, they can taste playoffs. This team, oddly enough, seems to play better when they have their backs up against the wall rather than when they get comfortable. Of course just two more points or a Kings loss will mean this team will finally have secured a ticket to the post-season dance.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets have earned respect around the NHL the old-fashioned way. Plenty of compliments being tossed at Winnipeg from folks across the NHL including some who know what it takes to win in this league.
National Post: It has been a good year for Canadian hockey fans. From one team team many expected to be in the playoffs (Montreal) to suddenly having five playing into the middle of April. If that stands it will be one INSANE first round of the playoffs.
Sportsnet: Jets play hockey the right way (video). Tyler Myers joined Brady and Walker to discuss the road trip and the Jets run to the playoffs.
TSN: C’mon Ref – Disallowing Stastny’s goal was correct call (video). Former NHL official Kerry Fraser explains why disallowing Paul Stastny’s goal against the Jets on Tuesday night was the right call.
Illegal Curve: Practice Report. A look at what the Jets were up to in Denver yesterday.
Jets audio:
Illegal Curve: Coach Maurice scrum (Denver). How important is it for the club to have a day off? Being one win away from achieving the goal of the playoffs. Important for today to be no different than a day off three weeks ago? Did they come out of the game last night unscathed? Depth of the bottom six scoring big goals. Does contributions from all lines bring team closer together? Challenges of Colorado.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg: Rona Roundtable. Shane Hnidy recaps the Jets shutout vs. St. Louis and discusses weather or not David Backes will be hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety.
TSN 1290 Winnipeg: The Big Show. With the Jets on the verge of the playoffs for the first time since they’ve arrived in the River City, Dennis Beyak says that around the NHL, word has it that the Jets are the team that nobody wants to face in the postseason.
