Note:  The Jets are in Edmonton to take on an Oilers team sitting second last in the West and not playing particularly well in their last ten games (2-5-3).  Of course Winnipeg cannot afford to take any team lightly so it will be a test to see if this team can stay focused on Edmonton and not look ahead to a huge test against the Canucks on Tuesday. Be sure to stay tuned to@illegalcurve for up to the minute Jets news.

Games of significance last night:  Canucks won.

Games of significance tonight:  Kings (@ Devils).  Wild (@ Leafs).  Sharks (@ Senators). Avalanche (@ Flames)

Jets news:

TSN:  Pardy playing crucial role on Jets blueline.  Surprised we didn’t get more on the Pardy dangle that fans seem so enamoured with the past couple of years.  Paul writes about the impact the Jets defenceman is having for this Jets team.

Winnipeg Free Press:  5 Storylines.  Ed offers up these five topics including: 1) What gives Mr. Pavelec 2) Reinvigorated Stafford 3) Once everyone is healthy 4) Progress in franchise’s growth and 5) Jets low ROW.  The article also offers up a Did you know, Numbers games, Prospect watch and Jets this Week.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets have never had it so good.  The players aren’t taken it as a given that there will be playoff hockey at the MTS Centre but they are also not afraid to talk about the chance they have to get themselves into a post season spot.  If they keep playing this way then we should have hockey after the season ends on April 11th (against the Flames no less).

CBC:  Jets stay in thick of playoff race with win over Caps.  Jeff reflects on the Jets circumstances exactly two years ago (Saturday) when the Jets found themselves facing a Washington team with an opportunity to make some noise.  Of course he reminds us of one of the best coach Noel quotes of all time “They’re playing chess, we’re playing checkers”.  He also looks at Mark Stuart playing the hero and Ondrej Pavelec standing on his head.

Illegal Curve:  Dustin Byfuglien Game Worn All-Star Jersey contest.  Enter to win a unique piece of Jets memorabilia.

Illegal Curve:  Jets on a Deadline.  Game recaps, post-game audio, video highlights and the NHL.com 3 Stars of the night from the Jets big win over the Capitals
