Note:  The Jets have secured three of four points after the first two games on the four game home stand.  Next up are the Los Angeles Kings whose eight game win streak ended with a 1-0 loss to the Senators last night.

Standings watch:  Canucks lost. Hawks won. Wild won. Kings lost. Sharks lost.  They are in the first Wild card spot three points up on Minnesota (2 games in hand) and four points up on Calgary (2 games in hand).  Sportsclubstats currently has Jets playoff chances up 1.2% to 62.6% following last night’s shootout loss combined with above results.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Scheifele raising his game for Jets.  He has certainly picked up his game as the Jets enter the home stretch.  He looked comfortable with another new linemate yesterday as he, Tlusty and Stafford had a number of chances.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Youth lifting Jets to new heights.  Gary’s article covers the arrival of the Jets future, today!  He says Scheifele, Hutchinson, Trouba and Lowry are making their mark on this team.

Winnipeg Free Press:  A loss with few complaints.  The Jets finally looked like a team that was ready to play some playoff hockey.  They played a pretty disciplined game only giving the Blues two power play opportunities.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Leaving Raleigh easy.  Tlusty’s bags were already packed and he basically only needed to know what his final destination would be once he got the trade call.

Winnipeg Sun:  Blues beat Winnipeg Jets in shootout after heavyweight battle.  It was the kind of game that had you wondering what a long playoff series would be like between these two teams that like to throw their weight around.  The Blues are the first team of five that were able to beat a previously perfect Hutchinson (14/14) in the shootout.  Of course these teams will face off another three times before the end of the season so stay tuned for more fun.

Winnipeg Sun:  Kladno Connection grows with acquisition of Jiri Tlusty.  There were smiles all around the MTS Centre as the Jets continue to corner the market on Czech born players.  Helps in making Tlusty become familiar that these three are all such good friends.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch:  Blues edge testy Jets in shootout.  You would think these two teams have played each other three or four times already with all the post-whistle jousting.  Read about the game from Blues beat writer Jeremy Rutherford.

CBC:  Jets make a point while earning one in loss to Blues.  Points at this time of year are critical and while you hate to see one left behind, when teams like the Kings and Sharks end their evening with zero, getting just one can help in the long run.

The Score:  Byfuglien pastes Blues’ Berglund with thunderous check.  Does any player that wears a Jets jersey have the ability to ignite the crowd with a hit better than #33?

CBC:  Queen portrait that hung in old Winnipeg Jets arena coming home.  You don’t have to be a Monarchist to appreciate the connection many in Winnipeg have to the historic portrait.

Blues 2 Jets 1 in shootout:

Winnipeg Jets:  Michael Hutchinson, Andrew Ladd, Jiri Tlusty and Mark Scheifele.

St. Louis Blues:  Coach Hitchcock, Ryan Reaves, Brian Elliott and David Backes.

Coach Maurice post-game presser:  Coach Maurice met with the media following the game against St. Louis.

Pressbox Podcast:  Host Drew Mindell and analyst Richard Pollock break down the Jets play against the Blues this evening.

Jets on a Deadline:  Game recaps, post-game audio, video highlights and the NHL.com 3 Stars of the night.
