Note:  The Jets picked up their second road win of this five game trip last night winning 3-1 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh against the Hurricanes.  Next up they take on two division rivals Saturday (Predators) and Sunday (Wild).  As always ensure you follow @illegalcurve on twitter.

Note II: Join Drew, Richard, and Ezra on Saturday, starting at 12 Noon on TSN 1290 Radio, as The Illegal Curve Hockey Show brings you 3 hours of hockey talk. The show will feature analysis of the Jets road trip thus far, as well as previews of both Saturday’s game in Nashville, and Sunday’s game in St. Paul.  Guests: Former NHL official Kerry Fraser is featured in the Saturday Spotlight, Josh Cooper of Yahoo Sports on the Nashville Predators, and Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Note III:  We are almost half way into Movember and Ezzy continues his quest to raise funds and awareness for this great cause on behalf of Illegal Curve.  Please donate to him here and help support this great cause.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Backup Hutch playing like a vet.  He has been calm, cool and collected since a poor start in game 1.  His fellow Jets have been raving about his work ethic in practice and clearly they appreciate the effort he’s put forth in the past two games.

Winnipeg Free Press:  The Thrashers are dead.  Are we on the cusp of seeing something different in season four from the Jets?  Winnipeg is riding high right now as they continue to push up the standings sitting 7th in the conference and just three points back of division leader St. Louis.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets right back in the win column.  Second time the Jets have beaten Carolina 3-1 thjs year and it makes you miss the Southeast division.  Ken breaks down the win in this column

Winnipeg Sun:  Zach Bogosian saves the day twice for Winnipeg Jets.  No question that he played a huge roll in the win last night.  If he can play an entire season like that it will be a tremendous advantage for this team.

TSN:  That’s Hockey 2Nite (video).  The Jets are ranked 29th in the league in goals per game but they finally got some much needed offense from their second line against the Hurricanes. TH2N breaks down Winnipeg’s keys to finding the back of the net.

Sportsnet:  NHL Power Rankings – Fun Facts edition.  Jets remain in the 17th spot.

Jets 3 Hurricanes 1:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game (audio).  On getting the first goal.  On Wheeler’s goals.  What did he think of Hutchinson’s game?  What did he think of his team’s reaction after they gave up the bad break pp goal.  What did he think of the play of Bogosian?  Thoughts on Halischuk’s effort.  Challenge with two division rivals this weekend.
