Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Postma opening some eyes with blue-line play.  Sounds like the coach has some faith in the young defenceman.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Perreault leaning left.  The Jets could always use the help on the left side, especially in light of the ongoing Kane injury.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Treading fine line between defence and offence.  There were way too many good quality chances given up by the Jets against the Bolts.  They will have to correct that against a similarly quick Colorado team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Postma marks tough anniversary.  Not one that Alberta native will be marking fondly on the calendar.

CBC:  Dear Jets fans, thank you.  Jeff writes about the events that transpired on Wednesday in Ottawa, how it impacted him and what the reaction of Jets fans meant to him.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum (audio).  Offense that puts the team at risk.  Chances given up and specific to Stamkos.  Happy to see team generate a power play goal?  What was he trying to get with Blake Wheeler on the back end of the 5 on 3?  On what Postma has done for the club.   Did he have an opinion on the tripping penalty last night?  Execution at the end of a route?  Are players not aware enough away from the puck?  What does he expect to see against Colorado?  Does confidence start in practice?

Denver Post:  Cody McLeod’s got fight, and whole lot more.  Sounds like this 4th liner is well respected for the things he brings to the team on and off the ice.

Saturday Spotlight:  Born in Manitoba, Andy Murray is the current Head Coach of the Western Michigan Broncos. He’s coached the LA Kings and St. Louis Blues and was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2012. He joined Drew Mindell for this week’s Saturday Spotlight.
