Winnipeg Jets Mason Appleton switching from 82 to 22 ahead of 2020-21 season

Me thinks that Mason Appleton has an affinity with the number 2.

He wore 22 with the Tri-City Storm, 27 at Michigan State, 27 with the Manitoba Moose, he’s worn 82 with the Winnipeg Jets and now according to the team he is switching to the double 2 ahead of the 2020-21 season.

No word if he spoke to Chris Thorburn in advance of selecting 22 (this is a joke).  The jersey was also worn by Mark Letestu (2019-20), Par Lindholm (2018-19) and the aforementioned Thorburn from 2012-2017.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
