Winnipeg Jets Mark Scheifele will not play on four-game road trip; listed “day-to-day”

When Mark Scheifele left the game (and was ruled out of returning) against the Senators four days back in the 2nd period after this hit (see below) by Parker Kelly it looked pretty bad for the Jets centre. He was also ruled out of the game the next night in Montreal and we heard from Darren Dreger during the TSN broadcast that he would be re-evaluated in Winnipeg.

Obviously with the game against the Kraken being cancelled, the Jets leaving early for Florida and then taking Wednesday off, today is the first day for an update. Jets interim head coach Dave Lowry advised as follows:

“He will be day-to-day but will not play on the trip.”

He remains in Winnipeg.

Tough news given that even though it has been a down season for number 55 he has still produced at nearly a point per game this year.
