Following skate we heard from Jets top centre Mark Scheifele who opened his media availability giving thanks to the hockey community after his father passed away during the playoff series against the Stars.

“I really want to say thank you to the guys in this room, the brothers, obviously my family, my friends, all the guys in the league that reached out, the organization and especially the fans. The support that I had and my family had at the end of the season was amazing and just shows how great this hockey world can be. But I’d really appreciate if we could keep these questions to about hockey and hockey only.”

From Stars fans starting a donation drive $55 for 55 to the outpouring of support we saw across the hockey world on social media, folks came together to support him and he clearly felt that support and wanted to acknowledge it before he began to discuss the 2025-26 campaign.
