Winnipeg Jets Mark Scheifele remains in COVID-19 protocol with Blake Wheeler, won’t play vs. Predators

While it was known that Blake Wheeler would remain in the NHL covid-19 protocol there was more uncertainty surrounding Mark Scheifele‘s status and whether he could play for the Jets when they took on the Predators this evening in Winnipeg.

He would have needed two negative tests on Friday and Saturday (separated by 24 hours) to be an option but this morning Jets PR indicated:

Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele remain in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol and will not play in tonight’s game.

Tough start for 55 having only played a pair of games so far for the Jets.
