The Jets got the news about Blake Wheeler a few days ago and then Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff indicated on Wednesday that the team was bracing for more positive COVID-19 tests although he updated that with a tweet later that evening indicating there may be some good news in that some of the positive tests have since been confirmed negative.

However some bad news for the team via Jets PR this morning as top centre Mark Scheifele is in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols.
But perhaps it isn’t all bad as insider Chris Johnston of Toronto Star/TSN provided these updates:
Mark Scheifele entered COVID-19 after testing positive yesterday morning. He’s asymptomatic and has since tested negative. If he produces another negative test, he’s eligible to come out of protocol and play tonight vs. Anaheim.
The result of Scheifele’s next test won’t be known until much closer to tonight’s 7 p.m. local start.
Which sounds like it is up in the air as to whether Scheifele will be available to play tonight. Perhaps Jets head coach will have some clarity once morning skate concludes this morning.
The 2024 2nd rounder has his first NHL contract.
