Winnipeg Jets Mark Letestu has a virus in his heart; shut down for six months

Coach Maurice indicated today following practice that veteran forward Mark Letestu has myocarditis. Maurice added “He’s got a virus in his heart.  He’s shut down for six months.  So here’s the positive ’cause it can be a really tricky situation.  He’s going to be fine.  They have full faith that he is going to get back to complete health but he is shut down with the exception of very light exercise for six months”.

Letestu played seven games this season with the Jets after he signed as a free agent this summer. We wish Mark the best in his recovery.
