Winnipeg Jets make paper transaction of Axel Jonsson-Fjallby to Moose

The Jets only made one paper transaction according to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff making Axel Jonsson-Fjallby available to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Today was the deadline for teams to assign players in order for them to be available for the AHL.

The speedy Swedish forward had three goals (1st | 2nd | 3rd) and one assist in four games with Manitoba. He also scored in the shootout.

Bit of a missed opportunity for some of the young prospects with the Jets who could have played playoff games with the Moose if the NHL club didn’t go as far as the AHL club of Winnipeg.

The paper transaction means he gets “sent down” but remains with the NHL club and is only used to ensure his eligibility.
