Winnipeg Jets make first cuts of 2025-26 training camp

Training camp began last week with 55 players on the roster. After less than a week of skating and two pre-season games that number will now be reduced as Winnipeg has announced the following moves:

Back to junior teams:

D – Edison Engle
F – Jacob Cloutier
F – Kevin He
F – Owen Martin

While Kevin He looked good in yesterday’s exhibition game the move to clear out the junior guys is not unexpected.

The following two players have been released from their professional try-outs:
G – Alex Worthington
D – Ethan Frisch

These two have AHL deals with the Moose and will be at their training camp.

The Jets now have 28 forwards 16 defencemen, and five goalies remaining at training camp.
