Winnipeg Jets loan Jeffrey Viel to the Manitoba Moose

The Jets had recalled forward Jeffrey Viel yesterday morning on an emergency basis ahead of their afternoon game against the Wild. Some folks went apoplectic (on twitter) thinking the tough winger would be playing in order to cause havoc with Minnesota after what happened in Winnipeg on Saturday.

But in the end he was simply insurance for the team who didn’t have an extra forward available with David Gustafsson unavailable.

He returns to the Moose where they are off today but will be back on the ice on Tuesday to prepare for a weekend series with the Belleville Senators.
