Forward Dominic Toninato was recalled from the Moose for the second time this season back on November 18th. This recall was on an emergency basis which converted to a regular recall on November 19th.
With both the Jets and Moose back in Winnipeg following road trips the NHL club announced that Toninato had been loaned back to the AHL club.
Since they are at the 23-man roster limit this could be a sign the team is ready to take Gabriel Vilardi off IR. They also don’t need Toninato and this allows them to run leaner and provides a boost to the Moose.
This was the second time this season Toninato had been recalled originally called up October 20th before returning on November 8th.
He’s played five games for the Moose this season (none for the Jets) with one goal and three assists for Manitoba.
The Jets and Moose are both scheduled to hit the ice on Tuesday as Winnipeg has a morning skate as they get set to face the Stars Tuesday night while Manitoba has a practice as they prepare for a weekend series against the IceHogs.
