Notable:
A fantastic play by Nikolaj Ehlers, who rather than take a harmless shot, got it back to Dylan DeMelo at the point. Josh Morrissey buried the rebound to open the scoring in this game.
Lots of focus on others but worth noting that “offensive defenceman” Dylan DeMelo is on pace for 31 assists this season. His career high was 21 last season.
On the power play Mark Scheifele gave Winnipeg a 2-0 lead courtesy of his 75th goal of his career with the man advantage as he tipped home the Josh Morrissey shot. Those 75 are tops on the all-time list (by far). Next closest is Kyle Connor with 56.
A wildly chaotic middle frame. Lots of good things (other than scoring) coming from the second line, especially Cole Perfetti as the 2020 1st rounder continues to look more comfortable in the NHL.
That theme continued into the 3rd as both teams traded chances in a wild game.
Connor Hellebuyck was excellent in the game saving 31 of the 33 shots he faced.
And then captain Adam Lowry ends it with his first goal in ten games with Vlad Namestnikov getting the secondary assist on the game-winner which comes on his birthday against his former team.
