Jacob Trouba to have a hearing with Department of Player Safety for Stone hit

It wasn’t the wisest of decisions when Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba hit the Senators Mark Stone in the head in the 3rd period of the Jets and Senators game.  While the Jets ultimately won the contest they could lose Trouba as he is scheduled to have a chat with the Department of Player Safety over the hit on Monday afternoon.  He was only penalized two minutes on the play but he may receive a stiffer penalty from them.  Here is the hit:

Jets fans are irate because many felt the Evgeni Malkin headshot on Blake Wheeler was worthy of discipline (it was) and while they are not wrong that that play likely merited a chat with the Department of Player Safety, so did this hit by Trouba on Stone.  We shall see if it results in anything more than a chat.

As always stay tuned to illegalcurve.com.
