Winnipeg Jets Injury Update: Nic Petan

During yesterday’s chat with coach Maurice he wasn’t asked about Nic Petan so an update with respect to him wasn’t covered in our Jets Injury Report which updated you on the status of Joel Armia, Shawn Matthias and Tyler Myers.

Today coach Maurice was asked specifically about Nic Petan and he had this to say about the Jets forward:

“We will see how this goes over the next three or four days but its going to be around,  I think, Christmas.  I don’t know if its earlier than Christmas or after but he is not far off.  I think Joel is still ahead of the other two, but probably Shawn and Nic are kind of tied together in that time frame.”

Petan hasn’t played since November 27th against Nashville when he sustained a lower-body injury.  It has cost him eight games with the Jets so far.  Back on December 6th coach Maurice had projected Petan’s return to be approximately 10 days to two weeks out.
