So we have progressed one week since the last substantive injury report (although we have been providing updates to Mark Scheifele’s status throughout the week) and since that report on the 27th we’ve removed two players from the list (Little, Perreault) and added two (Scheifele, Petan).

As of this morning these are the players remaining on the injured list:

Shawn Matthias* (18 games missed) Lower Body (Indefinite) Nov. 1 vs. WSH
Joel Armia* (17 games missed) Lower Body (Indefinite) Nov. 3 at WSH
Tyler Myers (12 games missed) Lower Body (Day-to-Day) Nov. 13 vs. LAK
Nic Petan (4 games missed) Lower Body (Day-to-Day) Nov. 27 vs. NSH
Mark Scheifele (2 games missed) Lower Body (Day-to-Day) Dec. 1 vs EDM

Updates from the coach:

Mark Scheifele:  “He’s getting better but he won’t go tonight.  He skated this morning.  Has felt incrementally stronger each day.  This is not a long term injury and it’s not something once it gets cleaned up that we will have to monitor going forward but he won’t go tonight.

Tyler Myers: “Skated this morning for the first time since his injury.”  “No timetable.  He just has to skate.  Ten minutes today, fifteen minutes tomorrow with no setbacks until we can push him.  This one has been tougher for us cause you can’t skate with it so he has been off, I believe, for three and half weeks now so there is going to be a bit of a lag for him getting back to full power.” Coach Maurice also indicated it wasn’t related to his off season surgery.

Joel Armia:  “We think we are still on track for Armia.  Mid to late December.”

Shawn Matthias:  “We are on track with Matthias.  Late December, early January.”

Nic Petan:  “Still a good ten days out.  Maybe two weeks.  That one there is a bigger window as to when he gets back feeling good.”
