The good news for Jets fans is in the eight days since our last Injury Report there haven’t been any new names added to the previous list of skating wounded. In fact the only change has been that Mark Scheifele has returned to action.
As of this morning these are the players remaining on the injured list:
Shawn Matthias* (22 games missed) Lower Body (Indefinite) Nov. 1 vs. WSH
Joel Armia* (21 games missed) Lower Body (Indefinite) Nov. 3 at WSH
Tyler Myers* (16 games missed) Lower Body (Day-to-Day) Nov. 13 vs. LAK
Nic Petan* (8 games missed) Lower Body (Day-to-Day) Nov. 27 vs. NSH.
Updates from the coach:
Shawn Matthias & Joel Armia:
On their progress: “They moved into non-contact status. They will get through a few days of that and then we will slowly move them into controlled contact, probably away from practice time and then into full contact and once they hit that its kinda how do you feel the next day. We have been able to push them fairly well. We are real comfortable with the program that they are under being that it’s the same that Bryan Little went through, so once they are good to go they will be back in but it’s day-to-day at this point”.
On when they may return: “I think we are more likely looking at the Vancouver series and even then I’m not sure.”
Tyler Myers:
Update: “He’s plateaued in his recovery and we are not seeing enough progress to put him on the ice and it will stay there until he gets out of the cycle that he’s in and until he feels good. But he’s not ready to skate yet.”
