Winnipeg Jets Injury News: Paul Postma to have hernia surgery (on both sides)

Paul Postma has been out of the Jets lineup since March 16th and as we’ve known for awhile he wasn’t healing quickly.  On Wednesday coach Maurice indicated that Postma would likely be having surgery soon and this was confirmed by the Jets bench boss today following morning skate at the MTS Centre “Paul is going to have surgery on hernias on both sides.  He had it.  Played as long as he could.  We’re not shutting him down because we are out of it. He played until the point he felt he couldn’t play anymore. Some of these you operate on, some you don’t.  We gave it about a week to kind of calm down.”

When asked about recovery coach Maurice indicated “Somewhere between four, six and eight weeks depending on how he heals.”.

Postma has had a nice season for the Jets playing 65 games (most in his career) with one goal and 13 assists.
