Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel indicated Cole Perfetti is week-to-week with ankle injury

With seconds remaining in the 2nd period of the final preseason game in Calgary on Friday night Jets winger Cole Perfetti went to finish a check and was definitely worse for wear as a result. You could see him wince and shake his right leg as if something wasn’t quite right. He wouldn’t return for the 3rd period.

After the game head coach Scott Arniel called it a lower-body injury but said at first glance it didn’t look good.

Now that the team doctors have had a chance for a second and likely more in-depth glance here was the update from Arniel following today’s skate in Winnipeg according to Mitchell Clinton that Perfetti has an ankle injury and is out week-to-week.

That’s tough news for the 23-year old winger who took a lot of pride last season for playing all 82 regular season games.

It’s also a blow to a Jets team that needs top six scoring.
