Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel advises that Josh Morrissey is trending towards a return this weekend

Back on February 12th Jets defenceman, playing for Canada at the Olympics, left the game in the 2nd period and did not return. While it was teased by the coaching staff in Milan that he could potentially return to play he never did.

A week ago Darren Dreger of TSN indicated that Morrissey would miss a “chunk of time“.  When we heard from head coach Scott Arniel before the three-game road trip he confirmed that Morrissey wouldn’t be travelling with them but that he hoped he’d be available to them this week.

Which brings us to today with the Jets holding a lightly attended optional practice following their 1-0-2 road trip out west after which the bench boss advised, as per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press that Morrissey is trending towards a return to action this weekend.

Of course he also stated as per Connor Hrabchak of WST that they want to ensure he is 100% ready to go before they put him back into a game.
