We saw on the recent mentors trip David Gustafsson and Kyle Connor were both in yellow, non-contact on the road trip while Ville Heinola and Rasmus Kupari were in regular uniforms but neither had the benefit of a full practice.
The only one of the four who skated during morning skate with the main group was Ville Heinola.
Following skate as the Jets prepared to face the Blue Jackets there were some health inquiries made to head coach Rick Bowness following morning skate. This is what he had to say about these four:
Kyle Connor: “Kyle continues to skate. I’d say he’s right on progress. We’re hoping to get him skating with the team.”
Ville Heinola/Rasmus Kupari: “Ville and Kup are close to playing so we’lll get them cleared by the doctors and make some decisions on them.
David Gustafasson: “I think Gus is another bit away yet. He’s not quite there yet.”
He was asked a follow-up about whether Ville would be a candidate for the Moose he added “That’s the discussion we know we’ll have when he’s cleared.”
He was also asked if Kyle Connor was ahead of schedule or right on schedule: “It’s six to eight weeks. We’re in what week four, so yeah we’re getting closer to that.”
