Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness tested positive for COVID (won’t be behind bench for home opener)

Some big news ahead of 7 PM puck drop for the Jets home opener against the Rangers as per their PR account:

PERSONNEL UPDATE: #NHLJets Head Coach Rick Bowness tested positive for COVID this afternoon. As a result, he will not be behind the bench tonight. Associate Coach Scott Arniel will assume head coaching duties in the interim.

Tough news for the new bench boss ahead of his 2.0 debut.
