Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness says Mark Scheifele is “feeling better and not ruled out for Game 5”

The Jets lost game 4 last night but more importantly they lost one of their top goal scorers in Mark Scheifele in the 1st period as he was tripped up by the stick of Golden Knights goalie Laurent Brossoit after a breakaway attempt. He took one more shift but immediately went to the room after taking a shot on net and did not return.

After the game head coach Rick Bowness said that Scheifele would be re-evaluated today.

The team didn’t skate but did meet with media at the airport prior to leaving for Vegas where they will take on the Golden Knights in game 5 on Thursday. Rick Bowness, as per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press, indicated:

“Mark Scheifele is feeling better and not ruled out for Game 5.”

Mike added that he “just saw him here, he looked pretty good.”. Of course the same was said about Nikolaj Ehlers after his injury in Minnesota and he hasn’t played since April 11th.
