Now that the Jets have concluded their season with a 2-1 OT victory over the Ducks it became official that Connor Hellebuyck had won his second straight William Jennings award which is given to the goalie/team “with the fewest goals scored against it during the regular season”.

For the second straight season they were the only team in the entire NHL allowing fewer than 200 goals in a season.
Hellebuyck is the first goalie to win two straight since Martin Brodeur and the Devils did it in 2003 and 2004. In fact since 1981-82 when they first started handing it out, this is just the fourth time a goalie/team has won back-to-back. Broduer also did it in 1997 & 1998 while Patrick Roy and Brian Hayward did it in 1987, 1988 and 1989 (only players to win three straight).
Just a remarkable achievement from the two-time, soon to be three-time, Vezina winner who also picked up his franchise record-setting 47th win. That also ties him for the second most wins in a season by a goalie.
