Winnipeg Jets Gabriel Vilardi skating in a non-contact uniform at an optional practice

The Jets are coming off a big comeback win over the Blues in game 1 of their first round series last night in Winnipeg. Today they are scheduled to have an optional practice out at hockey for all centre and the question was if they’d have any new faces joining skate.

That was answered in the affirmative as per IC correspondent Connor Hrabchak who confirmed that Jets winger Gabriel Vilardi is skating in a yellow, non-contact uniform.

While the game 1 win means there isn’t an urgency or need to rush him back early it’s still a good sign that he’s joined his teammates for the first time at a practice.

We will have to wait to hear what update (if any) head coach Scott Arniel provides following practice.
