It’s the time of the year where everyone is listed as “day-to-day” with NHL coaches not being particularly forthcoming when it comes to injury news. Of course I’m not sure they are ever really that forthcoming.
Jets winger Gabriel Vilardi was injured in a game against the Sabres back on March 23rd and the next day we learned he would be gone week-to-week.

Just a few weeks back he remained “a ways away” and was still not in the weight room.
The last update came less than a week ago where Arniel felt Vilardi was “close to see about him going out on the ice.”
Which brings us to today with Winnipeg preparing to host Edmonton this evening. Following morning skate head coach Scott Arniel was asked whether Vilardi had yet been on the ice. He indicated:
“No. Not yet. Close, not yet.”
With approximately one week to go before the playoffs start his availability for game 1 seems questionable but we shall have to wait and see what happens this week.
