Winnipeg Jets forward Axel Jonsson-Fjällby clears waivers (can be assigned to Moose)

With the expected return of Dylan DeMelo to the Jets lineup tonight in their game against the Kraken the Jets needed to make a move to ensure they were roster compliant and the move they made on Monday was to put Axel Jonsson-Fjallby on waivers.

Today it has been reported by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet that he was not claimed off waivers.

After Winnipeg claimed him from Washington earlier this season Jonsson-Fjallby played 45 games in a Jets uniform scoring four goals and adding seven assists which were all career highs for the 2016 5th rounder in his third year pro in North America (but first full season in the NHL) .

He can now be assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
